Adding SEO to Your Pub Site Website
As you know, adding SEO to your author website is very important. If you don't know what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is or why it's important, read about it in Search Engine Optimization: Basic SEO Tips Every Author Website Needs.
With Pub Site, you have options for Title, Keywords, and Description SEO fields. For info about what should go in the Title field and why it's important, read Title Tags from Moz.com. For the keywords field, including any related or relevant words or short phrases. For info about what should go in the description field, read Meta Description from Moz.com.
Meta tags are snippets of text that describe a page's content; the meta tags don't appear on the page itself, but only in the page's source code. Meta tags are essentially little content descriptors that help tell search engines what a web page is about. Read more about Meta tags here.
There are multiple places where you can add SEO to drive traffic to your website:
Under the Titles/Products tab in the Admin menu, select and edit books by clicking on the pencil icon. Go to the SEO tab for the book you are working on and fill in the fields. Click Update Product.
If you go to the Authors tab in the Admin menu and click "Edit Blog", you can go in and fill in the SEO fields in each blog post. Just select and edit a blog post by clicking on the pencil icon. Then, open the Search Engine Optimization tap.
Lastly, click on the Pages & Navigation tab in the Admin menu. Here you will find two windows: Main Navigation Menu and Not Included in Navigation Menu. Select any page in the Main Navigation Menu window and click Page Details in the lower-left corner. Then fill in the SEO fields. Make sure to click Update Page and Save Changes after you make any update or edit.
